Lloyd Doggett's get out the vote effort here in Austin was pretty annoying. He called us at least six times between the May 12 municipal election and the May 29 primary, including two phone bank calls--not robocalls--addressing my husband my name and giving the location of the nearest early voting location (the one thing we do right here is early voting). Unsurprisingly he won big, with 90%+ of the vote in Travis and a decent margin in Bexar (San Antonio), where his opponent was Tax Assessor-Collector.
This was the district they redistricted him into to get rid of him. It didn't work, again. I hope Romo, his primary opponent, runs again somewhere that I can vote for her.
And yes, that means we've had two elections in the last month here and I am TIRED of the robocalls. It's been blessedly silent since Tuesday, though. Worst part: Michael works for AT&T and we're required to have a landline that AT&T pays for, so we get a ton of robocalls.
