Bless you, Janet Reno
Sep. 18th, 2002 03:10 amMIAMI -- Speaking from her Miami Lakes campaign headquarters, former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno conceded the Democratic nomination for governor Tuesday, saying she told nominee Bill McBride "he was going to be a great governor."
McBride won the Democratic gubernatorial nomination Tuesday as unofficial results from last week's botched primary election showed that he maintained his narrow lead over Reno.
and, drifting on the wind from a great distance, with the faint smell of scorched pants,
Republican Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday he was delighted that it appeared his Democratic opponent has been finally decided.
"For a year, there have been three opponents that have been banging on my head and saying ugly things about me, not being very specific about what they would do differently," Bush said. "Now there will be one, and I'm looking forward to it. ... I look forward to a good, tough fight and I intend to win."
Oh, I've been hoping for some good news...
