Saturday, not in the park
Sep. 13th, 2003 11:28 amGo by the guilty pleasures comments over at Atrios and pile on. Tons of shameful goodies there already.
Headline of the day, from the Washington Post's famously conservative editorial page:
Liberty Bushwhacked
A really nice Johnny Cash tribute from the Times
A surprising burst of humanity from the NYC school system - they're going to provide fancy diner-style breakfasts, free, for all the kids in the system. Prior to this, a lot of the eligible children were embarassed to go to school for the free breakfast because it was seen as something only poor people did. Breakfast programs have shown measurable results in improving test scores in underperforming schools (currently at 40% here in the city - thanks, Governor Pataki!).
