I'm still a little bit unsettled (thanks so much for all the condolences - they were very much appreciated), so not a lot today, but do go read these:

via tbogg, a neat new blog. Something like early Lileks, before, oh, you know.

from Body and Soul, some unsurprising news about the depth of Our Fearless Leader's religious beliefs and how they've been marketed.

from Kos, BlackboxVoting.org has been pulled down due to legal action by Diebold, which takes the singular position that if they copyright their malfeasance the rest of us can't talk about it. This article seems to have set them off.

They did such a great job on the glowsticks - Ashcroft and the DEA are defining marijuana accessories now.

Speaking of justice [sic], they must be too busy tying up loose ends on the Tommy Chong thing to prosecute a Bush appointee who broke the law (according to the Inspector General).

You know when you get something home from the store and you look at it and you think to yourself "You know, this isn't what I wanted at all. Upon mature consideration, I don't think I'm going to be able to use a gallon jar of pig's feet. I wish I hadn't opened it"? Darryl Issa does.

Mme. Rice and the good General Powell had a somewhat clearer view of Iraq before 9/11, according to an australian journalist.

Charlie Rangel, the grand old man of New York politics, comes out for Clark. This becomes a fairly large story because he's seen as a political influence on Hillary or vice versa, or something.

That odd young woman who made passive aggression history by making terrorist threats against an entire cruise ship rather than simply telling her parents she wasn't going was sentenced to two years.

The Onion ever make you cringe when it's just a little too close for comfort?

The lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] drood, whose book you should pre-order immediately, so mightily does he rock, needs a parent-friendly synonym for "bad-ass"

You already knew that Calpundit interviewed Paul Krugman, right?

Apparently that big baby David Kelly (the scientist who committed suicide in the wake of the "sexed-up" scandal in Britain) was complaining about his salary because he, um, actually wasn't being paid enough.

Your day probably will never get this bad - a burglar who was fleeing the police fell through a ceiling and was shot to death by a naked woman.

You may want to reconsider your AAA membership.

Whimsy is apparently not a tremendous crowd favorite in Denmark - the frequently decapitated Little Mermaid in the harbor was blown up with dynamite this time.

Thank goodness for the history file.
