Democratic Sen. John Kerry phoned President Bush on Wednesday to concede the presidential election, a White House aide said.

Word of Kerry's phone call came a few hours after White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card announced that the Bush campaign was convinced the president had won re-election.

I am so bitterly disappointed in Kerry. Dean would have held on until the last vote was counted. I can understand wanting to have a stable government, but Jesus. And Kerry just made a liar out of Edwards, who indicated that they would hold out for the provisional ballots to be counted.

I just sent an outraged e-mail to the Kerry campaign. I gave $100 to the campaign this morning to help them fight, and I expect them to fight. To concede before the votes have been counted is an outrageous betrayal of trust.
