The College Republicans? The ones who sent multiple fundraising letters on different letterhead to old folks that didn't make it clear who was getting the money? The ones who are being investigated for "senior exploitation"?

Well, they have a good explanation for what went wrong.

"We've come to discover that there are a few donors who have been confused, a few donors who have some form of dementia, who aren't entirely sure of the amount of money that they're giving -- and how often they're giving," Hoplin said this week.

Why did granny not realize she was sending multiple checks to the College Republicans? Because she was the target of multiple fundraising solicitations from multiple "committees" which did not mention their association with the College Republicans?

Nope. Because she's senile.

Glad we got that cleared up.

I found that amusing myself - it does imply that one would have to be suffering from dementia to donate to the College Republicans, and therefore, no one in their right mind ough to consider it.
