We've had her with us for seven years, ever since the coworker who was abusing her (her rib never healed properly) threatened to have her put to sleep if someone didn't take her.

She was, understandably, somewhat cranky.

Nonetheless, she was used to us and we were used to her and we rubbed along OK.

Pidget was an indoor/outdoor cat before we got her. We decided to balance the small odds of something happening to her with the 100% certainty that she was going to be miserable living indoors.

For seven years, she beat the odds. Unfortunately, the house (and someone's car) got her in the end.

She wasn't always a very affectionate cat, but she had a wonderful purr.

She was a cat, take her for all in all,
We shall not look upon her like again.

My condolences. I lost a beloved cat about this time last year myself.

She was gorgeous. I'm so sorry. It's good to know though that there are people like you who can take such a beautiful creature out of such horrid conditions and give her seven good years.

Sorry, Julia. It's hard to lose them. She looks like she's doing you the biggest favor in the world by letting you take her picture. Those are the best kitties in the world, the ones that let you love them in spite of everything.

You'll be in my thoughts (not prayers; no god concerned only with this planet and my species is worth praying to, and the Creator doesn't need them). And I'll ask the cats we Loomi have lost over the years to be there to welcome her.

golly, she looks like a lady!

good thing they all have nine lives. in my experience, when one goes away, they send a new one to take their place. be on the lookout during the next year!

I'm so sorry for your loss, Julia. I love that picture; it says I Am Not In the Mood, loud and clear.

You gave her the best years she had, and I'm sure during that time she gave you just as much, if not more. Cats are so amazing.

I hope she is somewhere having a nice can of tuna with my beloved, departed BC. Actually, they're probably out having the equivalent of kitty margaritas and getting kitty tattoos together.

I lost a cat about two weeks ago (that's his baby pic in my icon). It's not easy. You have my sympathy.  :(

I'm so sorry, Julia. We lost one of ours over a year ago & it still hurts a bit, so my condolences are real. I know you were a great kitty-mommy to her. That's a sweet photo of her.

I'm so sorry, Julia. We lost our 7 month old kitty a few days before the election, also to our busy road. She was born during the primary season, and was a joy to our home.

Many hugs to your buglet as well. I'm sure it's hard for her at her age.
