Also, interpreting the facts differently than I do is equitable to allowing invisible deities who haven't said a word in 2,000 years to dictate national and international policy through emissaries caught in lie after lie. Certainly, our fundamentalists are different. They were suits.

Brooks does this too. Says he: I refuse to accept these so-called facts liberals use to support their fantasy worldview since they call into question my own fantasy worldview.

Are you getting the feeling that a collective intellectual fuse was blown in the journalism world on November 3? I think many scribblers feel that the best way to handle sitting on a powderkeg while surrounded by cigar smokers is to sit very quietly with one's hands folded in one's lap.

Cathy Young is the more intelligent of the Globe's two token conservative columnists. Check out Jeff Jacoby sometime. (They also run "Mallard Fillmore" on the comics page.)

My theory is that Young, Jacoby, and Fillmore are in the Globe to make conservatives look bad.

I've read her in Salon. As far as I can tell, her ecological niche is to be the person at someone's cousin brings to Thanksgiving dinner who embarrasses the shit out of everyone by launching into a stirring defense of spousal abuse at the dinner table.
