Ed Koch manages to rein in his enthusiasm while endorsing NYS Attorney General candidate Andrew Cuomo
“I first met Andrew Cuomo in 1977 when his father, Mario, and I were running for mayor,” Koch said in a statement. “Andrew, who was barely out of his teens at the time, has come a long way since then.”

While Koch was never what you'd call a fan of the Cuomo family (he believes that Andrew was responsible for the "Vote for Cuomo, Not the Homo" flyers that were being passed around when his dad was running against Ed for mayor), he's changed his mind about refusing to endorse Andrew (possibly because he's had a rapprochement with Mario, or possibly because he really, really dislikes Green).

What the endorsement of Republican-in-all-but-name Koch means to Democratic primary voters, assuming Green (who didn't get 25% of the delegates at the convention) can get enough petitions together to appear on the ballot, is kind of an open question. The Working Families Party endorsement, on the other hand, is worth not a few votes (with New York's fusion politics system, a lot of Democrats cross party lines to vote Working Families in the general election).*

Meanwhile, Green (who appears to have dusted off the playbook he used to power his upset, er, loss to Bloomberg) appears to be determined to erode the commanding lead that both candidates currently enjoy against Mrs. Pirro by having a series of temper tantrums for the press and accusing the party organizations of pretty much everyplace in New York State where anyone has ever heard of him of being involved in a conspiracy against him. Granted the Cuomo family has never been known for fastidious campaigns (see above), I'm not sure that either "my party is run by crooks" or "the people who know me best don't want me for the job" is the best message to go into a petition drive with.

*Me, for one.
