I saw it, thought it perfectly believable, and then tried to confirm it first.

When I couldn't do that, I looked for an "about us" and found the bit about Joseph Smith returning from the dead to clarify a few things.

So yeah. As satire, it fails because it's just too believable.

Doh! I read it to a friend under the premise that it was real. Although, it's kind of like The Onion. The news is funny and unbelievable, but occasionally life gets insanely stupid to the point where someone asks you "...is that from The Onion?" "Nope, that's off CNN." "Oh my."
