Have you seen the green ones? I like to make Peep blowfish. You spike them with toothpicks all over till they look like porcupines. Then you microwave them until they turn into spiny pufferfish. I mention this mostly because the blue and purple chicks work best for this, rather than to illustrate the fact that I have way, way too much time on my hands.
See, it doesn't matter if they're not the chicks. The chicks have to be stale and yellow.
Orange and black, while I suppose they're appropriate for a holiday dedicated to horror, are just not right.
HM decorated peep eggs once with icing. It made her very happy. They, while being exceptionally cool and a thing that made her very happy, were in strict terms not right either, not being yellow and stale. Exceptionally cool and a thing that made her happy, though.
