I'm always confused that there are people who call themselves patriots who don't think we're better than this.

I'd forgotten about the foreign aid the current administration turned down after Katrina. Is there a handy list anywhere of all the outrages and scandals?

One that I haven't seen mentioned--even if we get an administration which care about secret prisoners (or can be made to care about them), I don't see how can we be sure that all the secret prisoners get found.

Thanks for the shout-out, and for encouraging people to call their Congressional reps. Congress will, we hope, do the right thing, if enough of us tell our members that we DEMAND that the members get off their tushes and do the right thing.

The good guys are in the majority now, and we have to let them know that not only that we have their backs, but that their positions will only improve if they keep doing the right thing, and the United States behaving like another petty potentate or empire of bygone years, rather than like the beacon of freedom and respect for law that we are supposed to be... ain't the right thing.
