(Washington Post) Bush ignored the issue during two speeches today, and when reporters shouted questions at him during a visit to Capitol Hill. During a private meeting with senators, he immediately raised the topic and expressed great annoyance, according to a source who was there. Bush said that if he had known that hijackers were going to take planes and use them as weapons, he would have used the "full force and fury of the United States military to stop it," the source said. Bush said that he "sniffed politics in the air" and that "someone may be trying to use this as a political opportunity."
