That poor, pathetic, broken-down, disillusioned, booze-sodden lime-sucker. God forbid anyone should ever pause to reflect before acting. God forbid anyone should ever question why raining death from above never seems to solve anything (Where's bin laden? Where's Saddam, Hitch? Why is every terrorist on God's green Earth flooding into Iraq, blowing up pipelines and sniping at our boys and girls?). God forbid we should ever question the people who put Saddam where he was so he could torture and kill Hitchens' Iraqi buddies. God forbid Hitchens' should recognize his beloved Bush is finally showing what an underhanded, double dealer he is; why, he's actually asking those irrelevant weak sisters at the UN for HELP. How that must burn at him. That and the fact that remains: September 11 happened on Bush's watch. I wonder why I don't see anyone mentioning that anywhere? Because that would be antithetical to pulling together, stiffening our lips, and all the rest of the proposterous, brainless, heartless stoicism Hitch is recommending.
Honestly, I think all the hootch has finally eaten away at his big ol' brain.
