I'm struck by the conicidence of this post and the following one.

It seems Leni hung around until there was someone to follow in her footsteps, promoting a jerk in office with movies. Fortunately, the idiots in charge of the Showtime movie weren't as gifted as Leni sadly was.

There was a lengthy piece on Reifenstahl on today's "Morning Edition."

She sounded truely clueless vis-a-vis her political baggage. "Gee, like why are, like, people so hung up on the Hitler thing, you know?"

I'm actually curious about the undersea documentary she was working on. Will it ever see the light of day?

Her extreme old age at time of death puts me in mind of something Gore Vidal said about Pius after the war (and I'm not getting into _that_ issue) - that he saw him getting some bizarre rejuvenating treatment in Switzerland and he "guessed [Pius] wasn't in any hurry to meet his jewish employer"

A recent picture showed hr looking like some weird cross between Baby Jane and Tammy Faye Baker.
The sort of thing that give children nightmares, and makes an erection in a man impossible.
