I don't think that's how it works. Your journal is always hosted on the same server; the different ways of naming are just aliases. If you're logged in and are a paid user, your requests to see journals are prioritized above the requests coming in from free users and external visitors. Or at least that's my impression from previous statements made when the site was experiencing significant slowdowns.
I tried to look up information on this in the FAQs, but couldn't find anything on it in the list of paid vs. free features.
Thanks! I'm clueless about the technical details, but it does seem to be an improvement (though still fairly slow). Possibly my browser has something to do with it too.
