But can the FEC do anything about it? I ask because all the campaign finance violations I've ever seen have resulted in only a fine, and well after the fact.

Now, if that prosecutor down in Texas gets anywhere with Delay, that'll be a different story.

no, see, the shadowy groups are the 527s, which have to list their donors. The aboveboard nice groups are the 501(c)3s and 501(c)4s which don't have to list their donors.

The 501(c)3s are nicer, though, because although it's illegal for them to engage in political activity, your contribution to them to be used for political activity is fully deductable for you and tax-free for them.
