bla bla bla bla bla
Sep. 5th, 2004 07:00 pmYou know, I was going to write something about the implications of the post-convention bounce and, you know, how the convention was scheduled for the start of a three-day weekend so most of America wouldn't see the follow-up or how the hat trick of Mr. Barnes' appearance on 60 Minutes and the heating up of the investigation into Our Fearless Leader's closest foreign policy advisors handing over classified information to agents of at least three foreign governments that we know of so far and natural disasters in Florida and California is going to make it very difficult to sustain this particular 'bounce' and about the importance of acting like we believe we're going to win, since the only real political asset this administration has is institutional inertia on the part of the US media, which is having trouble shaking off the idea that we stop being America when someone attacks us (although Senator Zell showed us that they sure do get engaged quick when someone attacks them) or the way somehow Bush's plummet from record approval levels wasn't seen as momentum, but then I saw this description of the mighty Bush "bounce" on the Google News US News Page:
which I think puts it very nicely in perspective so I won't bother.
edit: or maybe I will. Go read Peter Sagal's dissection of Big Lie strategy over at Fanatical Apathy
edit again: maybe I will twice. Why isn't everyone getting their poll coverage from Donkey Rising at The Emerging Democratic Majority? Go read.
Polls give Bush the advantage
President's approval tops 50% for first time since January
which I think puts it very nicely in perspective so I won't bother.
