According to Howard Kurtz, Kitty Kelly's publicist is one Ms. Marina Ein.

Unusual name, Marina Ein. Yet somehow familiar...

This is going to get very, very ugly very fast.

Well, I see that Marina Ein served as spokesperson for Gary Condit, in the course of which she cast aspersions on the morality of the late Chandra Levy. You might have a point about potential fireworks regarding her and publicity for Kitty Kelly's book, but I wonder what kind of reputation Marina Ein has outside of her Condit connection. And how much negative publicity might arise from the past clients of an author's publicist?

Well, I'm interested simply because the lady is obviously comfortable playing hardball. I also think it's really improbable that her former employment won't come up to discredit her when she's defending the book.

It might come up but I'm a bit dubious of the press when it comes to researching the background of the publiicist for a book's author. The press is too lazy to even investiage really big stuff, so I doubt they'll go after secondary characters.

I ignored the whole Condit "thing" except I seem to recall that when the press was through with him, nothing was ever actually tied to him. Is that correct?

Kitty Kelly should get the attention of cable news for the rest of the run-up to the election. It is just their cup of tea.
