Ya gotta love that Fafblog is on the American Street. I would also nominate TBogg because we need more snark. I would also nominate Jesus' General except that I believe in the separation of church and state.... even when church totally cracks me up!
I hate those glossy, life-like bronze statues like the one on the American Street header.
Cheesy.
In Chicago, at Presidential Towers (or whatever the development is called, I've been gone 4 years. It's the towers on W Washington, went bankrupt a time or two) they have cheesy glossy bronze people playing frisbee.
Up the hill from my current Los Angeles home, I bicycle past a couple of them, it's like original art purchased at Sears, only you have a million bucks so you get a unique crappy statue instead of a mass-market crappy statue.
Who's the Painter of the Light shyster? It's like that, in 3D, and it cost a lot more.
I guess that has nothing to do with the content of TAS. Just trying to make you feel better.
Well, I sort of, um, am part of the content at The American Street.
I kind of like bronze statues of people. There are a pair of single-sex couples in the park on Sheridan Square outside what used to be the Stonewall that have always looked very homey and comfortable to me (I grew up a few blocks away)
Fafblog is so out of the box

Date: 2004-09-24 09:15 pm (UTC)But glossy statues that don't weather bum me out. They look like statues in a mall. Statues should turn green.
Plus, statues of frisbee throwers and spectacled suspender-wearing stock brokers creep me out.
Maybe we are thinking of different bronzes.
